What is the
West Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership (CSP)?
The West Lincs CSP exists to create local solutions to local problems by directly tackling issues of crime, disorder and anti social behaviour to improve the quality of life for people living in our area.
The partnership evolved following the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and is a powerful alliance of the following responsible authorities:
- West Lindsey District Council
- City of Lincoln Council
- Lincolnshire County Council
- Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue
- NHS Lincolnshire
- Lincolnshire Police
- Lincolnshire Police Authority
The Partnership also works closely with other statutory and voluntary organisations in order to deliver against its strategic bjectives.
What is our aim?
The Partnership is committed to working together to reduce Crime Disorder and Substance Misuse in Lincoln City and the District of West Lindsey and the harm that these cause to the communities of the area.
What is the Partnership Plan?
The Partnership Plan sets out the partnership’s priorities for the next three years. The Plan will run from 2008-11. |
How do we decide on our priorities?
Each year, the partnership assesses levels of crime and disorder that has been reported to the partnership. This assessment, known as a Strategic Intelligence Assessment, takes into account information supplied by all partners, not just the Police. As well as giving the partnership a detailed picture about the actual levels of crime in or area, it also helps us understand about the public’s perception and the fear of crime.
The findings of the 2008 strategic assessment have therefore been used to help decide the new set of priorities for 2008-11. These priorities will be looked at and refreshed each year to make sure that the partnership meets its aims and objectives.
How have we performed?
During 2007-08, the partnership demonstrated making a positive impact on areas considered high risk and high public concerns as follows:
Lincoln City
- Burglary Dwellings reduced by 30%
- Vehicle crime reduced by 18%
- Robbery reduced by 24%
- Wounding reduced by 24%
West Lindsey
